CHERKASY STATE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY (ChSTU) INVITES FOREIGN STUDENTS TO APPLY FOR PREPARATORY COURSE This department is in charge of preparing students for further studying at higher educational establishments and starts its work October, 1. Teaching Ukrainian or Russian is conducted according to the curriculum. Ukrainian textbook for foreigners is developed by CSTU professors and is unique. During one year students are studying Ukrainian or Russian at the level enough for further studying at the University and are getting basic knowledge of math, physics, chemistry, biology and other sciences. Foreign students of the preparatory department are educated in the following fields:
The studies are conducted by highly qualified professors in modern equipped rooms. While preparing every new students group their future field of studying is considered. If the students pass successfully the examination they get a special certificate which entitles them to get further education at CSTU or any other state University. Foreign students that don't have the command of Ukrainian or Russian can apply for 1 year preparatory course. They take course in language studies and other subjects depending on the chosen among variety of engineering, economics, medicine, the Arts and linguistics majors. School year begins October, 1. On completion of 4 years of studying students can get Bachelor ' s Degree, after 5 years of studying they can get Master о f Sciences .
STUDIES AND ACCOMODATION School year begins on September, 1 and consists of 2 semesters : -1 st semester: September ,1 – January,1 ; -2nd semester: February, 9 – May, 20 Foreign students are accommodated in 2- or 3-bedroom apartments of the hostel within easy reach from the university. There're recreation rooms and tutoring rooms. The hostel has television and Internet. Students can also get free medical help, dental help and massage. Accommodation fee depends on living conditions. For instance, 2-bedroom apartment costs $25 a month.
Exams - winter exams : January ,1 - January , 25 ; - spring exams: June, 1 – June, 30 . vacation: - winter : January , 25 – February, 8 ; - summer: July, 1 –August, 31 . Students are accommodated in the hostel rooms for 2 or 3 persons. Month fee – $8.
Social Program University staff are doing their best to create decent studying and living conditions for foreign students. Students are helped with finding whereabouts, language and living problems. There are also tours to different cities of Ukraine , Russia , Belarus , Moldova and other countries of former USSR and Europe . The University has 2 resorts: on the Black Sea coast and at the bank of the Dnipro where students can spend their summer. Students can also do sports at the University stadium and training facility. Students can use the library . During the brake students can go to the canteen or cafeteria.

More Info about CHERKASY STATE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY (ChSTU) Cherkasy State Technological University is a modern multifield higher educational establishment of level IV. Students can major in 24 subjects and graduate 36 educations – machine engineering, building, cybernetic, engineering, economic, linguistic, environment and design. Now the University comprises almost 9 000 students. The head of the University is Jurij Grigorovych Lega, Doctor of Science, Professor, awarded to “Honored Worker of National Education of Ukraine”, member of the International Academy of Computer Science and System and Ukrainian Academy of National Progress Science, Deputy of the Region Council, chairman of the Education, Culture, Science, Youth Policy and Sports Committee. The faculty comprises 530 teachers, among them professors, Doctors of Science and assistant professors, 3 honored workers, 15 Academicians, members of the branch Academies of Science. 3 theses for a Doctor's degree and 27 PhD theses were defended in 2003. In 2004 there were defended 2 theses for a Doctor's degree and 5 PhD theses. CSTU structure has 10 departments and 39 chairs. There is a Department on Foreign Students Cooperation. Students from 35 countries are studying here. The University is a basis for 7 research and production educational establishments. Scientific research activity is very high in the University: there are post-graduate courses on 11 majors, 12 Science Schools headed by prominent scientists. CSTU is the first on the list in Cherkasy region having the largest amount of patents and inventions. The University has 8 school buildings, 3 hostels, a library, a publishing center, a gymnasium and a stadium, an assembly hall, a cinema, 2 museums, a health-improving center, a canteen taking 450 people, a driving school, 2 recreation departments. There is also a Student Parliament, 7 students clubs, 5 KVK teams, 13 sports departments, 5 psychological clubs and many hobby groups. For 42 years of the University life more than 20 000 of Ukrainian and foreign students have got higher education. DEPARTMENT ON COOPERATION WITH FOREIGN STUDENTS The department on cooperation with foreign students was created in 1998 targeting at language and specialty preparing of foreign students for their further studying at CSTU or other higher educational establishments of Ukraine . For 17 years 1000 students from 45 countries of the world namely China , India , Peru , Syria and other had studied at the department. They got Bachelor's and Master's degrees in different fields, translators' certificates. Foreign applicants can be educated in the following fields:

The department is entitled to diploma international certificates. During their studying students are supervised in their research work by professors and can get PhD on completion of their research. Our department is cooperating with similar departments of other universities: Kyiv Polytechnical Institute, Kyiv Medical Institute, Poltava State Technical University and Vinnytsya State Technical University .
