At Malaca Instituto we have students of all ages (from 16 to 90 +), from all parts of the world and from a variety of different cultural and professional backgrounds. They have differing levels of Spanish and differing reasons for studying Spanish.

One standard course is never going to suit these widely differing needs and interests. As a result, over more than 30 years we have developed (and continue to develop) a wide range of courses to meet these varying objectives.

Whether studying Spanish for school or university, for work or purely for the pleasure of knowing another language and its culture, you should find that we offer the course you want.

• Quality guarantees: The various inspection schemes check our leisure and living facilities as well as academic issues. They all meet the high standards required and you can also be assured that they live up to how they are described in our promotional materials.
  
• Location: the school has an enviable location in an up-market residential area just 10 minutes walk down to Mediterranean beaches and 15 minutes bus-ride from the centre of town. Málaga International Airport is just 20 minutes drive from the school and in 35 minutes by car you can go trekking in the mountains.
  
• Residential accommodation: The Club Hispánico residence is part of the same building as the school and is exclusively for the use of our students. It has 110 rooms all with en-suite facilities and all with direct dial phone. There is a 24-hour reception where you can also rent cars, read newspapers, buy cold and hot drinks and access the internet. Students can choose between standard Single rooms, Twin rooms or Executive rooms.
  
• Range of leisure and living facilities: we believe we have amongst the best leisure and living facilities available in private sector language schools in Spain. These include: restaurant serving Mediterranean and international food, bar, games room, cinema, swimming pool, dance studio, various sun terraces and gardens and a self-service laundry.
  
• Mini-campus atmosphere: As a result of the range of on-site facilities, our students tend to stay on “campus” after lessons, creating a very welcoming atmosphere and an environment in which it is easy to get to know the other students and make friends.
  
• Cultural Excursions: we organise excursions to help the students to get to know the great cities of Andalucía (Granada, Sevilla, Córdoba, Ronda, etc.). During the full-weekend excursions to Morocco our students can find the roots of the cultural heritage they see in Andalucía.
  
• Cultural and social events: we aim to help the students get to know Málaga and its traditions and to enjoy the company of their fellow students. To achieve this the programme includes: cultural talks, tours of Málaga, museum and gallery visits, Sevillana and Latin dance classes, Flamenco shows, parties, etc.
  
• Sports: some of the best golf courses in Europe (see below), tennis, paddle tennis, keep fit, jogging tracks on the beach, and snow skiing (winter only, at 1 ½ hours from Málaga). Special prices are available to our students for many of these sports.
  
• Golf: there are around 40 golf courses within half an hour to 1 hours drive of the school. Apart from a small 9-hole course, private transport is needed to access these courses. Cars can be rented from the reception of Club Hispánico.

STUDY FACILITIES
Learning a language is not just a question of attending classes and allowing the teacher to teach you. The level of active participation that you make both in the classroom sessions and afterwards is crucial to the progress you will make. The mini-campus of Malaca Instituto/Club Hispánico makes it very easy for you to continue studying after class by providing excellent self-access study facilities on-site. Our mini-campus includes the following facilities to enable you to get the maximum benefit from your studies: Classrooms There are 25 classrooms. They are comfortably equipped with modern classroom furniture and all have whiteboards and the majority have a TV monitor with video. There are mobile units for those classes where video is not installed. All the classrooms have air-conditioning. Multimedia Study Centre This is made up of 3 distinct areas designed to suit each student's particular learning style. Reference library In the library area there is a wide range of books and other learning materials to enable you to consolidate and reinforce the class room lessons in your preferred manner. You will find: Dictionaries and reference books on Spanish culture Graded readers to help learn the pleasure of reading in a foreign language step by step Self-access worksheets, developed by our Department of Research and Development, which cover all the areas of language from grammar and vocabulary development to listening and reading comprehension Computer lab Here you will find 11 computers for your use. There is an ADSL internet connection enabling you to research information on the web or to send e-mails to your family, friends and work colleagues. You will also find study materials, both published and those developed by our own research department, so that you can choose the media by which you study: by computers or the more traditional worksheet and book format. Audio/visual lab There are hundreds of video and audio tapes to choose from. You can relax and watch a film in Spanish, select a tourist video about the excursion at the weekend or a documentary about Spanish history or way of life. You will also find video-based learning materials if you prefer a more focussed learning approach. The audio materials include a wide variety of tapes, mostly recorded by our teachers, which you can use to help develop listening comprehension, increase your vocabulary and your knowledge of Spanish culture. If you prefer you can also see a film in large-screen format in our cinema, frequently with an introduction by one of our teachers (see “cinema” in the leisure section). Observations The range of study facilities we offer means that every student can continue studying after class in the particular manner and medium they prefer. The Multimedia Study Centre is also the ideal place for doing your daily homework.
